Introduction

This course is designed to encompass emergency first aid training for Emergency 1st Aiders. In addition to the basic Emergency 1st Aider syllabus, modules can be included which are tailored to the client’s requirements.

 

Who Should Attend?

For healthcare and other professionals whose assessment of need does not require a full 4-day First Aid at Work course, but require further training and practice in addition to that offered on the Emergency 1st Aider’s course.

Aims

To ensure delegates that attend, understand the practical applications and legal responsibilities of First Aid.

  • Duties of a First Aider
  • Record Keeping
  • The Initial Assessment
  • Incident Management
  • The Recovery Position
  • The Top to Toe Secondary Survey
  • Artificial Ventilation
  • Chest Compressions (CPR)   

The course is delivered over 1 day, includes group workshop, case studies, practical exercises.

Method of Course Assessment

Practical examination throughout the course.

Certification

Delegates who successfully complete the course will receive a joint Primus/HSE certificate valid for one year.
