A particular problem facing employers today is that one in five employees is assaulted each year at work.
The implications of this under the 1974 Health & Safety at Work Act are significant for both employers and employees.
Primus works with employers to develop and deliver training solutions that minimize the risk of violence & aggression in the workplace.
This course is designed for staff who may be, or are likely to be confronted by violence or aggression in the workplace.
It provides staff with the knowledge and skills required to protect themselves and others when dealing with aggressive or potentially violent people. Importantly, it also teaches staff to explain and to justify their actions.
Course Content
The course is tailored to your work environment and includes.
- Assessing and Reducing Risk
- Avoiding and defusing conflict
- Post-incident support and learning
The Primus course is suitable for nurses, teachers, benefits and social service staff, out-reach workers, public transport drivers, parking attendants, retailers, customer service, reception, security staff and door staff. However, the course is transferable to any other environment where staff may be faced with irate or violent clients and customers.
The course can be delivered for groups of up to 12 people at your own venue, or at a local venue. It is suitable for all staff, irrespective of age, ability or previous experience and is designed to be ‘ people friendly’.
